Not for the faint of heart, certainly not for the vegan, the April 2019 Johnnie WOD Training Camp is a two day training experience with Power Athlete CEO, John Welbourn and his staff, on John’s private ranch outside Austin Texas. Along with a large dose of heavy iron and nasty WODs, feast on Texas BBQ and sip on libations as you enjoy the Crew’s legendary tales and best kept secrets on how to be a bad motherfucker.

Attendees can expect two full days of a lift & learn experience. The Power Athlete Crew and Block One coaches leading this event will be training alongside the group during training times. In between training sessions John and his staff will venture into whatever topics are uncovered by the group.

This is not a 50 person seminar with a 1:25 coach:athlete ratio. There will be 2 Power Athlete coaches for every 3 athletes in attendance to provide a fully individualized training experience.

This event is for attendees, John, and his staff to share meaningful and memorable training experiences that will extend beyond the two day event. Attendees will be introduced to various assessments and individualized training tools that cannot be provided in any of Power Athlete's daily programs. These assessments and tools will be individualized for you, the attendee.

The capstone of the training experience will be a group voyage to Texas EGGfest. John, the Power Athlete Crew, and all the attendees will head to this annual event, now in its 18th year, celebrating the Big Green Egg and all of its wonders. 30+ Eggs, 30 teams, 140 cooks, and celebrity chefs make up an all you can eat, all you can drink experience just 30 minutes from the Power Athlete Ranch in Texas Hill Country.

How to Prepare

  • Come prepared to train

  • Weather appropriate casual clothes
  • We strongly encourage opting in to the room share / AirBNB coordination, that includes YOU introverts. It will make for a great experience.

A: Yes, but it'd be a lot cooler if did.

Q: What do I need to bring for the Johnnie Football Training Camp?
A: Two pairs of black shirts, two pairs of black pants, one pair of combat boots, two pairs of black socks, one black jacket and $300 personal burial money... Wait... wrong group! You WILL need to bring the following: Two pair training clothes, one pair social clothes, one pair workout shoes, one refillable water jug, $60 cash for Texas EGGfest and an appetite.

Q: What if I have an injury and am unable to participate in training activities?
A: Training will be a high percentage of the training camp. Even sidelined with an injury, you will have the time of your life but we encourage you come ready to load up a barbell and WOD. Hard.

Q: Will travel and accommodations be provided by Power Athlete?
A: No. You are responsible for your own travel and lodging. We highly recommend connecting with the Training Camp class for sharing of travel and lodging costs.

Q: Do you offer military, senior citizen, or other discounts?
A: We love ya, Blue. You're our boy, but we do not offer discounts at this time.

Q: Any other questions? Yea...from the guy that probably won't get in. Exactly how many tickets are opening up for the Training Camp?
A: There are only 20 spots available and I have 5 spots reserved for my Block One coaches, that leaves 15 for the commoners. First come, first serve. Once the spaces fill up we will open up a waiting list to contacted in the order it was received.
